The fee of €490 per couple (€245 per person) covers the preparation of your marriage approval process. In addition, there is an administrative fee of 2100 DKK (approximately €282) payable directly to the Agency of Family Law when requesting approval.

Yes. Apart from the processing and administrative fees, you should budget for travel and accommodation, especially if staying overnight in Denmark. Optional extras can also be arranged, such as apostille and legalisation services, interpreter service, photographer, floral arrangements, and special requests for the wedding date or ceremony location.

Typically, it takes about 5 working days for the Agency of Family Law to process a marriage approval request, provided all required documents are in order.

Once you receive approval, the availability of wedding dates at your chosen ceremony location will determine when you can hold your marriage ceremony. This timeframe can range from 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on the location.

After submitting your application, the AFL usually responds within about 5 working days. Once you receive approval, you can arrange your wedding date at your chosen ceremony location.

The Danish Agency of Family Law (AFL) usually processes approvals within 5 working days, provided all documents are in order. 

If your application is not approved, the Agency of Family Law will inform you of the reason. You may be asked to provide additional information or documents to resolve the issue.
